| Emily Tarleton is a registered dietitian with wide range of experience and interests. She completed her dietetic internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC and has a Masters of Science from the University of Maryland, University College. She has worked in many aspects of nutrition including wellness and fitness counseling, weight management, inpatient and outpatient medical nutrition therapy, nephrology, cardiovascular disease, and research. She is currently the Bio nutrition Research Manager at the General Clinical Research Center at the University of Vermont where she oversees more than 20 studies involving nutrition. |

Her research and professional interests include the effect of various fatty acids on chronic disease, the physiological and psychological effects of obesity and eating disorders, and dietary supplements. Emily is excited to be a part of the Core Awareness Training team. She hopes to help advise athletes on the latest in sports nutrition, dietary supplements, and using nutrition to increase performance. She enjoys working with both young and experienced athletes, individuals, and families. |

Pat Patane is a Certified Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapist currently practicing out of the Manchester clinic of the Vermont Sports Medicine Center. Her areas of practice interest include sports medicine, orthopedic rehabilitation and reconditioning.
Pat earned her BS degree in Physical and Health Education/Athletic Training from James Madison University, and her MS in Exercise and Sport Sciences/Athletic Training from the University of Florida. She worked for a number of years as an NATA Certified Athletic Trainer, and is the former athletic trainer for Fairleigh Dickinson University. In addition, she has extensive work experience with scholastic, national caliber, and Olympic caliber athletes, highlighted by a stint at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid. Pat is also an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. |

Pat went on to earn a second BS degree, in Physical Therapy, from SUNY Stony Brook. She currently serves as a professor in Stony Brook’s School of Professional Development, teaching courses in the disciplines of sports medicine and kinesiology.
She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and the U.S. Olympic Sports Medicine Society. |
